Twig Stick Broom - Arenga

A handbroom created entirely of my own making- unconventional in process, unconventional in material, rooted in ancient traditions.

Arenga bristles — coarser, darker, with a raw and earthy character — bound in lambswool wound in alluring, compelling colour.

A child needs no invitation to find the extraordinary. It is everywhere — in the crumb, the surface, the smallest moment of the day. Somewhere along the way most of us stop noticing. A good object has the power to restore that — to reimagine the familiar, to reilluminate what we already have and have forgotten to see.

This is a handbroom. It sweeps soil from the potting bench. It is also an invitation to look at your own life with fresh eyes — to find the extraordinary stubbornly present in the ordinary, if only you reach for the right thing.
