Enfys Cushion in Bramble

The Enfys begins with a maypole. Ribbons crossing, weaving, turning - colour gathering toward a fixed point as the seasons shift beneath it. It is a venerable visual language, arriving here through a thoroughly contemporary process. Patterns are plotted digitally and colour considered obsessively, before being handed to wool and knitting needles to resolve, stitch by stitch, into something you can hold in your hands.

Bramble takes its name from the tangled, thorned hedgerow baring fruit that ripens as summer turns to autumn - and it is that deep, sun-warmed rust that grounds the cushion, the colour of leaves just beginning to turn. Across it run bands of clay pink, deep berry purple, bejewelled turquoise and zingy lime, crossing at a single point like fruit caught mid-ripen among the brambles.

Each colourway holds a season:

• Bramble - A deep, thorned rust that carries the turn from summer to autumn - colour just beginning to ripen.

Propped into the corner of a favourite chair, it holds a quiet insistence: that this ripening - this particular, tangled bramble-rust, is always somewhere just outside the door, waiting to be found again.

• Origin: Made in Scotland from 100% pure 2ply lambswool
• Dimensions: 40cm x 40cm.
• Production: Small batch
• Care: Dry clean only, or hand wash cold in wool detergent and dry flat away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry or wring. Air occasionally rather than storing folded for long periods, and keep away from direct sunlight to preserve colour. A natural moth deterrent (cedar or lavender) is recommended for storage.
